Allow court pleadings to be accepted digitally

Currently, ICE attorneys around the country must file documentary pleadings with the Board of Immigration Appeals. The pleadings are hand delivered through the use of a private mail delivery company. It would save the U.S. tax payers countless dollars if pleadings were allowed to be submitted digitally.

Digital Signature for Word docs

Eliminate printing and signing word documents by using the ApproveIt add-in across the DOD. I believe the Army has already implemented this, but not the other services. The ApproveIt add-in allows a CAC enabled signature on MS Word docs, rather than just the picture embedded that is inherint to MS Word. By using this add-in, signatures can be verified, can't be falsified and documents can be digitally signed vs printed... more »

Save Time: Paperless Hiring Leading to Digital Record Keeping

As EPA Region 9 summer interns who’ve grown up in a Web 2.0 World, we feel we have a fresh perspective on how procedures are carried out with new technologies. We were surprised by the sheer amount of paper involved in the hiring process –SF-52, I-9, a physical welcome folder all of which were available online. For a total of 2 million federal employees, this translates into an incredible amount of paperwork and redundancy.... more »

They are also cumbersome to keep safely stored and away from the weather. My suggestion is for the National Park Service to offer visitors the option of downloading park maps onto their phones/pc in advance of their trip, or when they enter the park. Since most phones now... more »

Save a Tree Save some Money

We have multiple committees all over the hospital and all require agenda's and packets. R&D and IRB have huge packets (500 or more sheets of paper) for 25 or so people. At the end of the meeting all the paper goes to the recycle bin. So my idea is to go digital with these agendas. I'm sure that by purchasing electronic tablets we could save a lot of trees and money on paper. Digital is the way of the future everything... more »

Government app store

I am a big believer that technology enhances everything we do and because technology is evolving so extremely quickly these days, the government needs to be using these tools to streamline our processes.

After becoming a federal employee, I was shocked to learn that not only does it sometimes take months to get new software and hardware approved, but that the same software had already been approved for other agencies.... more »

PROBLEM: typical Construction Documents Sets (like drawings, specifications, contracs, bid packages, etc.) are very large and heavy weight in nature, consuming a lot resources and money from the agencies & customers.
