I work in R&D Contracting and am required to take training courses that have nothing to do with my job. Taxpayers must pay my travel expenses as well as my salary for me to travel (up to 4 weeks) to classes that are irrelevant to my actual job. They are a waste of my time and the taxpayers' monet.
Since DAU provides centrally funded acquisition training, I recommend ensuring strict oversight over the use of private firms to provide acquisition training. The courses offered by commercial enterprises tend to be expensive and the caliber of these classes are very subpar in my experience.
