When you tell a business you are moving, you get a certain price quote. However, if the government sets it up, the average cost to move a GS-12 is 140,000 dollars!!! Seriously? Don't Make Military Transfer

In the Coast Guard a person can transfer off of a boat every 3 years or a land unit every 4. If a person makes rank they are transferred most of the time, even if they have only been at a location for a year.
