Develop timeliness guidelines for GI endoscopy for alarm symptoms, such as dysphagia, iron deficiency anemia, hematochezia, weight loss

 

This would help GI Endoscopy Units prioritize scheduling and expedite diagnosis of GI cancers. This would decrease the costs of treating cancer, and decrease malpractice suits for delayed diagnosis of cancer.

Better use of software programs to reduce the cost of printing

The VA is supposed to go paperless in the future. So, why do we print the letters from MAP-D, PCGL, and RBA 2000, for the veteran’s file? These letters are all saved and available for viewing at any time. PCGL and RBA 2000 letters are in Virtual VA. Place VSR with county offices (POA) to facilitate faster claims

Placing veterans service representatives (VSR) into the field one at every county office. The VSR would actually talk with the claimant clarifying all information he or she is submitting. Copy the file into virtual VA and notification can be verbally/written no waiting 30 days for VCAA response.
