getting back to the basics-cutting SSI for children

We as an agency, were created to supplement a family or an individual's income, when there is a loss in income due to death, retirement or a disability. Well I think we have gotten off track. Social Security pays disabled minor children Supplemental Security Income (SSI). My question is "what are we supplementing?" Children have never worked so why are we paying benefits as if they contributed to a loss of income... more »

Small Business Separation Bonuses (Save $1-2Billion or more)

Provide separation bonuses to government employees who submit an approved business plan and will start a business within 1 year of separation/early retirement from government employment.

We all know the executive department is bloated, at least those of us who are honest & who have been around long enough to experience the waste first hand among various departments. I've had first hand experience with DOJ, DOD & DOC.... more »

Environmental Protection Agency

Market Maker

That’s approximately $500,000 for just the EPA on office supplies. During our summer internship, we sighted one way that federal dollars could be used more efficiently, support American companies, and spur the green economy: by leveraging... more »

Free child care

This is similar to another welfare to work suggestion, but slightly different. Establish free child care centers (daycare) on a first come first serve basis for anyone regardless of income. Some people pay as much as $200 per week for daycare in the summer months especially. Trained and supervised welfare recipients could man the daycare. Work for minimum wage for the number of hours it takes to equal their monthly... more »
