Solar Power

Put solar power on all military dorms, and add heating to them as well. Not all government buildings are efficient in providing solar power, but the ones that are geographically located in areas feasible should be built with solar power panels.

Promote dollar coin use at AAFES, Commisary, NX, Clubs, etc.

US dollar coins are being stored. They are not circulating. Dollar coins are cheaper in the long run than paper one dollar bills.

Have the PX, BX, comissary, Marine exchange, clubs in the Morale and Welfare system, etc. Start each day with a specifiec minimum of dollar coins in their "bank", "drawer", "tray" or what ever the enterprise calls the money availalbe... more »

Change 5/8 hr day schedule to 4/10 hr day staggered split crew

For agencies requiring 5 day coverage and who are working 5/8 hr shifts. Split the crew into two crews. Change the shift to a 4/10 hr shift. One crew will work M-Th, the other crew work T-FR. This will increase coverage to 10 hrs a day, for 5 days a week without increasing labor cost. While great strides have been made recently to get more folks to file online (which substantially reduces labor costs for the government), there's no reason why the remaining paper filings (of which there will always be some) couldn't be digitized by lockbox banks (or the Federal Reserve) servicing the IRS.
