Replace leafblowers with rakes

In the fall, the facilities workers at my agency use leafblowers to clean up the outside of our building. These leafblowers are not only expensive to buy (or rent) and to repair, but they waste energy and contribute to both air pollution and noise pollution.

Why not replace those leafblowers with good old-fashioned rakes? Rakes are less wasteful, not just when they're being used, but also when they're being manufactured.... more »

Having been in service (and grown up around military bases my entire life), I continue to see too many hot-shot, jet jockey pilots who blast themselves off from runways at well beyond required speeds and power. Combine Jet Demo Teams - Save Fuel, Manpower, Equipment, Lives

Instead of having multiple, high-caliber, high performance jet demonstration teams (like the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, etc.), either completely eliminate them or combine them into a single, highly competitive team. As U.S. Citizens, we all love these bad-ass, high energy, screaming jet teams. But in these fiscally challenging times even the Department of Defense needs to cut out some of the fancy shows.
