Active Duty Military Guard Their Own Facilities vs. Contractors

Why does the military use civilian contractors to guard their facilities, including gate/post access? When I was on active duty, we guarded out own facilities, and did a better job of it than contractors. What are active duty service members doing of they are not guarding the gates (MP’s) and facilities - training 24/7? I think the only service who still uses its active duty forces to guard their facilities... more »

Eliminate Citizenship Paper Certificates w/Plastic Card

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services currently issues very expensive Certificates of Citizenship and Certificates of United States Naturalization. They are printed by the Treasury Department's Engraving & Printing and then issued after vetting and a fee of approx. $600 dollars plus is paid to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Expand Use of Working Dogs at TSA Airport Checkpoints

Currently few if any TSA airport sites use working dogs. Instead of spending millions on technology that cannot find everything, start placing trained bomb sniffing dogs at all airports. At the same time train TSA personnel to watch for signs of people reacting nervously to the dogs.
