I have worked in the prison system for over 10 years and I have to question why we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars performing elective surgeries on inmates that have lived with their conditions for years. Tours of museums and Federal buildings

I live in the DC area and when visitors come to DC they want to see all of the monuments, museums, and Federal buildings. While our tax dollars are hard at work maintaining these facilities, there is a toll put on these places when the public is able to take a tour of (for example) the Pentagon or Office of Printing and Engraving. However, a lot of foreign visitors also take advantage of these tours who do not pay taxes.... more »

Allow civilian employees to carry weapons

Allowing civilian employees to carry weapons into the federal facility that they work (assuming they can legally carry a weapon in the jurisdiction in which the federal facility is located) in would result in significant savings for security and would significantly reduce the likelihood of a successful 'active shooter' style attack on those facilities.
