Establish a parking fee at all federal buildings that currently have free parking for motor vehicles. Parking fees can be patterned after the US Forest Service trail pass fees, where each site would have a self-service permit system for a daily fee, along with a longer term permit fee for yearly use. Reduce PC costs with Netbooks and Cloud computing.

A huge portion of our budget is spent on purchasing computers. These costs can be reduced significantly. Everyone in my office is issued a laptop that includes a DVD/CD-ROM and an 80 GB hard drive. DVD/CD-ROMs are rarely used, and the 80 GB capacity is much more than is necessary, especially since most of our files are available through shared drives. I am presently reimbursed at 51 cents per mile to use of my privately owned automobile and would like to instead sometimes be reimbursed at 10 cents per mile to use my privately owned bicycle.
