Here at the Golden Field Office, we send grant documents to Intellectual Property in Chicago for every grant and modification that is completed. This results in anywhere from 20 to 60 pages being printed and shipped to Chicago. Many of us spend hours a day moving paper from one office to another through the clearing process in order to build consensus and input on policy issues. Oten times we are working across agencies and across time-zones with our counterparts across the U.S. and/or at different U.S. embassies around the world. In our office, countless pages of paper are wasted because office personnel print out documents only to fax them into an electronic disability claim file. I am sure that this is a common issue throughout the country. Office personnel should be trained on how to submit an electronic copy of the document directly into the case file without having to print it and fax it.
Currently federal agencies mandate electronic payroll deposits. On the flip side, many still send out paper payroll subs.
I would like to see a federal mandate to make all payroll stubs electronic. This would save postage and paper costs while simultanelously expediting these notices to all federal employees.
