The Federal Government should not hire employees just because they meet a quota.
I've seen too many employees hired to meet a targeted category, who were totally unable to do the job. Some were eventually terminated, some still working.
By getting the best qualified candidates, we would cut out the waste in money used to train, and give the American Taxpayers the Federal Government that they expect and deserve.

Many government employees and contractors are provided Blackberries to fulfill their job tasks. However, most also have a personal cell-phone as well.

USAJOBS.GOV should be revamped.
Job applicants should not only receive the confirmation that the resume/application were sent, applicants should also be provided feedback from the HR reviewer.
The HR communication would prevent the necessity of follow-ups and simplify the Federal Government job application process, saving the Federal Government millions of dollars.
Why not adopt MANY of these suggestions? Many of these are legitimate money-saving suggestions for the Federal Government.
I suggest adopting as many of these as possible to give the American Taxpayers the Federal Government that they expect and deserve.

Studies have shown that poor relationships often lead to poor performance. Create seminars to help employees enhance their relationship skills (e.g. conflict management, how to foster positive relationships, etc.). This could be taught by federally employed mental health professionals at little or no cost.
