Partner w/Private Industry To Lower Online Govt. Retail Costs

Billions are spent each year by federal government agencies on IT infrastructure to run their online (and outdated) legacy retail efforts. Now, in today's tough economic times, efforts to update these systems may never happen due to high costs. As an alternative, utilizing private systems. For ex., Amazon.com Inc's cloud computing unit might provide one logical alternative. Amazon Web Services started small in 2006 by... more »

Consolodate MWR HQ's to make one service independent Joint MWR

Establish a central Joint Service MWR (Morale Well-Being & Recreation) Command that is capable of serving all bases and all services similar to how AAFES serves all the bases retail needs. There are 5 separate service MWR HQ commands such as MCCS, Air Forces Services Agency, Army MWR, Coast Guard MWR and Navy MWR. Prosecute Theft of Services Cases

Civil servants and private contractors who routinely fail to achieve work goals, show up for work, or contribute to the mission could and should be found guilty of theft of services. Consolidate Federal Branches, Offices, Services, Departments

While filling out this form, the list of Federal choices is staggering. ~>300 on the register list alone. It's not fun but it should be done. There are 5 different Indian offices alone. This is the "United States" can we stop singling out Americans for special treatment. Everyone can't and shouldn't have their own Federal Branch to get special services.

Continuity of services, Work From Home and Money Savings

The President has asked agencies to review means to provide "Continuity of Services" in a crisis. Well the first crisis is here, the price of doing business has significantly increased this year just because of rising fuel and eletric rates.
My Idea is to expand on the excellent idea the president has for Continuity of Services by mandating that all agencies that can provide work from home options begin doing so now.... more »

Department of Homeland Security

For Fee Genealogy Services

This idea would not save the Dept. money, but would contribute to the Service's revenue. We have access to very old immigration files and I think those interested in their genealogy would happily pay for this service. A great resource, The Midwest Genealogy Center, is literally located down the road from the National Records Center, and NARA; provided the proper legal avenues relating to PII and securing protected information... more »
