Eliminate Paper Towels

Simple idea but this would save millions wasted a year considering we have 2 million federal employees. Paper towels have to be purchased, shipped, stored and disposed of. This would make government wide more eco friendly by saving trees and eliminating the amount of waste we produce. The air dryers (without heat) are a very cost effective and would pay for themselves quickly.

bathroom toilet paper and paper towels

Revamp system such that:

1- Partial-rolls of toilet paper are not discarded into the trash by cleaning staff for the convenience of installing a new roll.

2- Recycle bins are installed in bathrooms for paper towels only (The vast majority of paper towels are used to dry clean hands and then discarded. These could be recylcled.)

3- Or, switch to hand air dryers.

Department of Homeland Security

Eliminate Paper Towels

We waste SO much in paper towels. We have no other option for drying our hands. The waste bins are overflowing with paper and that is just the one bathroom, on one floor, in one building. Installation of hand dryers would save serious government resources and significantly lower the physical waste coming out of government facilities.

No Paper Towels or Air dryers in Bathrooms

Save energy, create jobs! Use a recipricating cloth hanger in bathrooms. There are companies that come to your place of business, take the dirty cloth rolls and leave clean ones.

I don't like the waste of papertowels and the air dryers never get me dry unless I spend 5 minutes using them so I suggest cloth. No plastic, no paper, no electricity, just the washing of the laundry. Save money, reate jobs.
