Online reporting, not hard copy, for new regs

I work at the EPA, and some of our new regulations, such as the air regulation called NESHAP Subpart HHHHHH, affect thousands of small businesses like auto body shops. Those regulations require businesses to send in standard forms such as Initial Notification letters. Right now, we have them send these in on paper, which results in a flood of snail mail letters. Reduce IRS Form 1040 to a Postcard

Many years ago President Reagan said he wanted to simplify taxes to the point where an individual would receive a postcard with what the Government said they owed in taxes. If the taxpayer agreed, they could pay the assessed amount; if not, they could file and explain why it should be different. Reduction in tax code(s) should please everyone (except H&R Block and others who prepare tax returns)
