Deployed entitlements

For military personel, entitlements are a big plus to deploying. For the most part, a single E-4 and below is still living in base dorms/barracks while at homestation. They do not recieve BAS because they have the chow/mess hall to eat at for free at anytime of the day. But when they deploy they are "entitled" to BAS. While deployed they have access to the chow/mess hall anytime of the day. So nothing changes when they... more »

Transfer of Entitlement Programs to State Governments

The Federal Government needs to transfer responsibility of all entitlement programs over to state governments. Medicaid, welfare, Housing and Urban Development would be more efficiently and effectively run if it was operated and budgeted on the state level. State governments can better prioritize their regional needs. The Federal Government should involve itself to only in investigating fraud, waste and abuse by the... more »

Campaign Ads that help Social Security

Why not tax all campaign ads (or all campaign ads above some set limit), and have all proceeds go to support Social Security and Medicare. If the rich and elite can spend millions of dollars to get elected to a federal office than why can't some of these funds go to support those constituents they wish to represent. The more you spend on campaign ads (TV, radio, paper, etc.) the more you contribute.

Better yet, vary... more »

STOP Dual Military BAH

A needless benefit that only allows dual military families to pocket additional money. The senior member of the household should be able to file for full BAH and the lower ranked service member would then have their entitlement removed. BAH is offered for housing assistance of their dependants, so why then should both members be entitled if living under the same roof? The money saved would definitely be a huge profit... more »

Why Pay Privatized Housing Different BAH rates for Same House

Why on earther would we allow a privatized housing company to receive full BAH entitlements from different ranked service members who make wide range of BAH entitlements when the service members are living in the exact same floor plan and dwelling? Why should we pay a company so much more overhead say from an Officers BAH rae when they are living in a dwelling that a mid enlisted service member is living in. If the... more »

Do Away with Earned Income and Head of Household Entitlements

We have enough people already getting more money back each year than what they paid in. Why on earth pay someone a bonus for simply being a single parent or not making that much money to begin with. In the grand scheme of things, why on earth would we give excess money to those who never really contributed enough to earn it? I grew up in a low income family and I dont truly see where this once a year bonus came to... more »

Make DoD Civilain LQA mirrior military entitlements

Currently DoD Civilian LQA is much higher than their Military counterparts of equivalent rank. This is due to the requirement to have DoD fall under Department of State regulations. Let the DoD control what overseas civilians get for LQA and not the Department of State. that way the DoD can operate more efficiently and save money. Currently a GS-9 makes more than a Lt Col does for off-base housing. GS-13 and higher make... more »

Cut Disability Benefits - Limit Entitlement Criteria

Disability entitlements are out of control. I am currently separating from the military, and I wish I had a dollar for every time someone strongly encouraged me to report every stubbed toe and bruise to the military docotors so that later down the road I could file a claim to receive disability entitlements. It is like the dirty secret that everyone knows about, yet no one does anything about.

Massive amounts of money... more »

Stop paying to advertise public assistance

I see advertisements for public assistance programs everywhere it seems and I can't seem to understand the logic behind it. There is no competition and the necessary contact information is in the phone book, if you still use one, as well as online.
