Allow staff to agree to share offices/cubicles in exchange for teleworking 50% of the time. Not only will that reduce office expenses, it will allow better rested staff to perform better work instead of always arriving exhausted from a long commute. For our agency, it may even allow for subletting certain floors of our new building (3WFN) to the private sector.

Use More Telework to Reduce Office Space and energy requirements

Many agencies and departments are likely leasing space in expensive office buildings. By achieving a higher proportion of employees who can either telework full time or work from their homes two or more days per week, the government can reduce the square footage of leased office space by having employees "time-share" multi-use offices when they do have to come into the office.
