Cutting staff

Get rid of the Speical Assistants (or similar titles) to office directors. Office directors do not need special assistants. They are often highly paid for -- what? The government is supposed to work for the people of the U.S. Office directors do not need Special Assistants to do special pet projects for them. We could easily save a couple million at each large agency by getting rid of them and moving these people into... more »

Stop Travel Waste: Video Conferencing

Currently, the US EPA, Office of Research and Development, wastes millions of dollars in travel support for meetings and training that could be easily performed using video conferencing technologies. To date, ORD has already saved millions of dollars by using video conference facilities located throughout its campuses at HQ and Research Triangle Park and remote locations.

Document Collaboration

All agencies can benefit from secure document collaboration spaces, similar to Google Docs. The collaboration space could be made more secure for classified or sensitive documents. This would save server space required for E-mails, as people would no longer have to E-mail large files to eachother.
