Almost every large restroom and pantry in the numerous federal buildings I've entered are lighted throughout the day. The same is true for many other rooms in federal buildings. With the cost increasing for electricity there would be a great savings if motion sensors that activate lighting were installed in theses rooms.

After contract agreements to purchase federal automobiles, not including those needing quick acceleration or for security, electric and hybrid government vehicle should be purchased to reduce spending for gasoline. The hybrid vehicles should be those engineered to use battery power while in idle and at speeds up to 20 mph. This is a first step in removing some government dependency on gasoline.
