IRS Payment of E-Filed Returns

Currently IRS and the Federal Government are loosing as much $100 million or more a year from payment of fraudulently filed electronic returns. The problem seems to be that in an effort to quickly process the return, IRS pays any refund due before they compare it with any information they have available. Often paying someone who is not even the legitimate taxpayer. Recommend that IRS adjust their system so at the very... more »

Stop Tax incentives for Big Profitable Corporate Business!

Seriously, GE,Fed Ex, Verizon...they all get PAID by us [taxpayers] in the form of Tax incentives-supposidly for job creation etc. But who are we fooling? Do they create any more jobs after the first few years? It's pure profit to the company. Take away the tax breaks or at LEAST restore the laws to close the loop-holes so obviously being corrupted.

Pass HR 50 - Fair Tax Act

The Fair Tax replaces all federal, Social Security, and Medicare taxes from your check and replaces it with a consumption tax of 17%... it then gives you a monthly credit for taxes on food (based on family size and location).

It then brings taxation to those who choose to opt out of the taxes (illegal’s, cash services, etc..) thus overall increasing the amount of taxes to pay this debt WE have without unfairly burdening... more »

IRS project -100,000 tax preparers who failed to register.

As of today, 100,000 tax preparers have fail to the new registration requirement imposed by the IRS. The service should prioritize the review and examinations these non registrars and question the returns that they prepare. This would show our dedication to transparency. There is more of a chance tax preparers who are not registered, to be less compliance than other registered CPAs , tax attorneys, and registered preparers.... more »

Eliminate Paper Tax Processing Utilizing Treasury Lockbox Banks

While great strides have been made recently to get more folks to file online (which substantially reduces labor costs for the government), there's no reason why the remaining paper filings (of which there will always be some) couldn't be digitized by lockbox banks (or the Federal Reserve) servicing the IRS. Since these banks are already processing remittances for deposit, why not have them digitize filings so that they... more »

Training

I was an instructor for the IRS last year. I was given an electronic course to "teach" on Identity Theft. I think we would all agree this is an important subject. I was allowed one hour for my students to work through an online course. The hour was not even enough time for them to read the material. It's no wonder these victims feel that we have no idea how to help them. It's because our employees are poorly prepared.... more »

Tax Fraud

I work for the IRS. Every day I see accounts that, because of my training, I can easily see are involved in fraud. I also get taxpayers & preparers who admit to me over the phone that the SSN they are using was bought, stolen, etc. You think there would be a way for me to report this to someone in my agency, wouldn't you? You would be wrong.

I have been told that I can submit a 3949-A, an Information Referral form,... more »

Flat Tax and Reduce the IRS

Create a flat tax for everyone with no loop holes, exemptions, or tax breaks.

Reduce the size of the IRS by at least one half of current staffing, associated offices, and vehicles.

This would create a vast resource of monies for government and remove the associated bureaucracies that weigh this great nation down. It would be a very positive step in getting our nation out of the massive debt crisis.

Online IRS account

I don't understand why I am mailing in documents that the IRS has already received from my banks, jobs, and etc. Why not allow individuals and companies to login to their account and see what documents the IRS has already received? Then permit them to upload the documents that are needed. Why mail in a document the IRS already has?

Income tax, NO! FairTax, YES!

Americans--that is to say, law-abiding Americans--spend collectively millions of hours each year preparing to pay their income taxes. Imagine if that massive human capital was instead engaged in activity which contributes to the economy instead of feeding a bloated government bureaucracy. April 15 would be just another day of the year. It's time to repeal the 16th Amendment and implement the FairTax. No more filing. No... more »

Federal Income Tax

Most if not all American's hate paying federal income tax and would love to eliminate federal tax, but what is the answer?
The answer is to establish a federal lottery commission similar to what most states have such as the State of Texas. This would require the establishment of a Federal Lottery Commission to manage and oversee this effort. Most individuals would argue that this establishes another federal agency requiring... more »
