Better Monitoring of Veteran Travel Pay with GPS

Millions of dollars are issued each year to veterans who qualify for travel pay benefits in order to come to the VA for medcial appointments. The problems is... it is the easiest system in the world to scam. Veterans are paid based on the distance from the address they have listed in their medcial record to the VA facility. Often veterans will list an address of a relative who lives far away on their medcial record... more »

Better Letters for Vets

VA needs to upgrade the structure and content of standard language used in its automatically generated letters (MAPD and PCGL) to provide optimal service to Veterans, slash claims inventory, save money, and boost employee morale.
Edits should be done by VA employees who work claims daily, not contractors in Washington who have never opened a Veteran's file.

It is like the dirty secret that everyone knows about, yet no one does anything about.

Cut costs on loans against insurance

Limit the amount of loans veterans can take out loans against their Disabled Servicemembers Veterans Insurance. Currently the system is bogged down by a very small percentage of the overall amount of veterans who have SDVI. By law the government cannot deny a veteran their money, yet, out of the over million who have it, a few hundred per year take small loans out every month in the area of less then $10 to $20. The process... more »

VA Medical Records - Release of Information veterans records

The Release of Information method of printing out requested information on paper is time-consuming, expends high costs in paper, printer toner and printer useage costs and parts, (fusers, photoconductor kits, etc.), on leased printers.

My solution to cover all patients, including homeless veterans:

It would much easier to fulfill those records requests on CD or DVD rewritable disks with password protection just as... more »
