Eliminate Backlogs of SSA and VA Disability Appeal Claims

On the SSA Web Site, it states that it takes between 3 to 5 months to receive an initial SSA disability decision. On the VA Web Site, it states that it takes up to 6 months to receive an initial VA disability decision. SSA Appeals take 2 or more years at OHA. VA Appeals take 3 or more years at the BVA.

Zero Tolerance for Fraud

The GAO estimates $17 BILLION dollars of improper Medicare payments each year.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program pays out $4.6 BILLION in improper and fraudulent benefits annually.

The Department of Veterans Affairs loses $800 MILLION annually on improper and fraudulent payments.

And the FRAUD list goes on and on and on, totaling OVER $100 BILLION PER YEAR!!!

Earnings and Benefit Information Sharing Between SSA and VA

According to www.SSA.gov, the Social Security Administration web site, there are 9.4 million Veterans who receive Social Security benefits.

Many Veterans receive pension (needs based), and not compensation, with the VA.

Many Veterans receive SSI (needs based), and not Social Security beneifts, with SSA.

There needs to be a monthly interface of earnings and benefit payment information between SSA and VA.
