End Budget Crisis

I have a way to collect a billion dollars a year from insurance companys. The VA doesn't bill insurance companys on the devices that are used and are losing a billion a year. Pick my idea and

Mr. President I can get this working across the Nation.

Solar Panels on Every Federal Building.

Solar Panels on Every Federal Building. This will save lots of money and can make money by sending extra power to power companies and they would have to pay the government. May allow for charging of electric cars at a fee basis. Vote for this idea show that people care about our environment. Thank you!!

Better Monitoring of Veteran Travel Pay with GPS

Millions of dollars are issued each year to veterans who qualify for travel pay benefits in order to come to the VA for medcial appointments. The problems is... it is the easiest system in the world to scam. Veterans are paid based on the distance from the address they have listed in their medcial record to the VA facility. Often veterans will list an address of a relative who lives far away on their medcial record... more »

Honesty Is The Best Policy

Have all Federal employers' Human Resources departments apply a psychological screening test that will indicate the level of integrity / honesty of job applicants. (Once the dishonest people are employed by the Federal Government, it's likely too late to oust them, especially if the supervisor / manager does not assume responsibility, or, worse yet, the supervisor or manager is dishonest.) Also, a fool-proof method of... more »

Veterans Eligibility; BETTER WEED OUT & FLAG INELIGIBLE Pts

However, at least in our VISN (12), review of eligibility seems to indicate sloppy procedures. E.g. 1 pt alone who is NOT EVEN A VET was seen at least as early as 1997 on a HUMANITARIAN EMERGENCY status. Once in the system,... more »

Travel pay for Vets coming to med appts - Refurb the system

Travel pay should not be authorized for Vets locally attending their appointments. For people who choose not to live near a VA they should authorize only 2 travel pays a year and no more.

Travel pay should be authorized when going from one state to another for referred care or one VA to another for referred care, but we should not be paying people to come and see their doctor. This is an abuse of our system and we... more »

Implement BVAMC Beneficiary Travel Tool Nationally

Early in July I developed a beneficiary travel tool to expedite a task for myself and a colleague in calculating copious amounts of information on Beneficiary Travel mileage. Upon utilizing this tool, it became evident this simple tool could be used by other VA staff to more accurately complete beneficiary travel vouchers. The tool is a simple web based interface that tells the mileage between a Veteran’s residency... more »

Randomly Check Accuracy of Eligibility Claims

Create a local Quality Assurance Panel in each VA to randomly check the accuracy of claims for eligibility. If we can identify where the holes are in each VA, we will then know how to close that hole.

For each pt who fraudulently applies for and is granted eligibility for health care benefits, there is a cascade effect: pt not only gets inpt stays, costly medications, dental work, etc. but can then apply for housing,... more »
