Shut off unused lights and equipment during off hours

Many times over the weekend at federal facilities the lights and computers remain on. The cost savings would be enormous if we can encourage people to shut the power off and get engineering to power down the central controlled electricity on unused floors.

Limit rehab and recover patients visits per year

In foodserive I can say I see the same patients walk through recover and rehab bi monthly or even yearly. When I speak of recover patients I am talking about durg and alcohol abuse. Patients will go to VA to VA for treatment over and over again. I think we should limit the number of times a patient can use the recover or rehab program. Zero Tolerance for Fraud

The GAO estimates $17 BILLION dollars of improper Medicare payments each year.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program pays out $4.6 BILLION in improper and fraudulent benefits annually.

The Department of Veterans Affairs loses $800 MILLION annually on improper and fraudulent payments.

And the FRAUD list goes on and on and on, totaling OVER $100 BILLION PER YEAR!!!

Honesty Is The Best Policy

Have all Federal employers' Human Resources departments apply a psychological screening test that will indicate the level of integrity / honesty of job applicants. (Once the dishonest people are employed by the Federal Government, it's likely too late to oust them, especially if the supervisor / manager does not assume responsibility, or, worse yet, the supervisor or manager is dishonest.) Many people are very aware of the abuse of travel pay by many veterans. Some say it should be eliminated but that will most likely not happen anytime in the near future. I am a nurse in Primary Care at a VA and witness and report this abuse frequently.
