Employee Sharing of Travel Savings

It is time to encourage employees to save on travel expenses by sharing a percentage of the savings they have on their travel. Use the average price of hotels, rental cars and air travel for TDY location and give the employee a percentage (say 10 or 20 percent) of the amount they save the government. By doing this, the Government could develop a culture of looking for the best price and most savings.

Make GTCC Voluntary for Reservists

The Government Travel Credit Card is required for military members to travel. However, most members would prefer to use their own credit card to accumulate rewards and furthermore mobilized Reservists are forbidden to use them as part of mobilization. Option to Take 50% of Hotel Max Rate In Place of Hotel Stay

As a government traveler, there is a maximum rate for lodging allowance, and people will often book a hotel at this maximum rate (in fact, in places like Honolulu, all the hotels know the max rate and will charge the travelers that amount).
