Savings on Training

The cost of training each and every employee is extremely high and I believe that there is a better, more cost efficient way of doing things. Currently, the Government sends each employee to their required training, paying for their flight, hotel and per diem. For a two week course, this can easily be $5000 per person. Many training vendors offer on-line options vice classroom attendence (e.g. RCRA fundamentals, DOT Hazmat training, Environmental Law, etc.) These courses include interactive capability for attendees to ask question of the instructors. Course materials, exams, and references may be provided electronically saving printing costs. Although many on-line courses are available, I don't believe the government is maximizing... more »

Consolidate Redundant Air Force Airlift Staff (AMD)

The current structure of the USAF in the warzone is based on a pre-internet model from an airlift perspective. The TACC at Scott AFB, in conjunction with US TRANSCOM, vet and assign transportation to all DoD users around the world. When an employee works for a military organization (as a reservist, for example) certain mandatory training is required and is accessed in a specific database (perhaps for that service, such as the Air Force).
