Consolidate the U.S. Statistical System to save money

Dozens of federal agencies produce statistics for the public (Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Stats, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bureau of Justice Stats, etc.). Most of these agencies are staffed with statisticians, mathematicians, geographers, and survey methodology experts.

$187,000,000 Per Year Saved! OPERATION FREEZE THE INK!

OPERATION FREEZE THE INK! 700 pounds and 10,000 pages is what the average worker will print in one year. A 25-30% reduction of printing by 50-60% of federal workers (1,500,000 FTE) would save $187 million in a year! It's not technology that holds us back, it's the will to use it. Implementing a printing cap would make government workers get creative in how a document is electronically delivered.

Consolidate the National Weather Service - Eliminate Regionaliza

By eliminating the six "Regional Headquarters" within the NWS, directives from the top would reach the field offices more "efficiently" and would be carried out more effectively. Plus, it would save alot of money by eliminating all the unneccesary management that is "gumming up the works."
Most of the important support structure for the NWS is located in Kansas City, MO. The "Central Region" HQ is also located there.... more »
