Mandate that all federal agencies and building to inlcude monuments set temperature of 67-68 degrees in the winter and 74-75 in the summer. The cost savings from this action alone will make a significant impact without any extra labor costs.

Effective, Economical, & Commonsense Conservation Measures
• Requiring the default on our printers and copiers to print double-sided. The IT department(s) could set an Organization-wide default, and in those instances where individuals need to print single-sided, it is easy enough to do so. Energy Savings/Office Temperature
My office building has a default temperature range of 69 to 73 degrees. It is over 90 degrees outside and my office is 68 degrees. The default temperature range should be seasonally adjusted so we can wear summer outfits in the summer!

Hardwired Attic Fans solar powered
Install Hardwired attic fans attached to solar panels. This would work by during the hot months electricly kicking on and drawing out hot are better than non electrical systems. The benefit would be that it would lower the attic temperature thus lowering the cooling that would be disapated through the 100 degree attic during the summer.

Energy and Dress Code
Increase the temperature range by 3 degrees in summer and lower by 3 degress in winter. Communicate to employees and embedded contractors the proper attire to wear. This would relax the dress code but still not allow people to dress like bums. This would apply to all Executive, Legislative, and Judicial agencies.

Thermostat +3 summertime, -3 in winter
I'm tired of having to wear long sleeve shirts in July and short sleeve shirts in January.
It doesn't need to be 70 in the summer, which is exactly what my cubicle thermometer says right now. 72-74 would be fine.
And keep it a bit cooler in the winter as well. Shoot for 68-70, not 74-76 ... which is what i was seeing last winter.
