How about we work a lot harder to elminate CLS. We already pay soldier, sailor, or airman to do this job. Contractors avoid provisioning parts which delays organic support. Secretarial Support

Ensure that there are strict critieria and robust training for secretarial ("administrative assistant") support. This will help reduce the time required by professionals (e.g., engineers, scientists, supervisors) to process things like travel and presentations. Currently, the lack of qualified secretaries results in inestimable time spent on copying, submitting, and revising official documentation, including travel.

Require COTS interchangeability in new construction

One of my major duties is helping resolve obsolescence issues that continue to crop up when supporting Navy ships that are 20-50 years old.
One area that continues to be an issue and is getting harder to support is the multitude of displays and monitors. The vast majority of monitors onboard ships are Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs), most recognizable to everyone as old technology television and computer monitors.
