The Chillicothe VAMC has a new Biomass boiler/generator. It uses shredded wood to power it. Could future Biomass boilers/generators be configured to accept the shredded confidential documents/paper as fuelas well? The disposal costs of the shredded paper should be reduced. Less shredded wood would need to be purchased.

Do as much work in-house (use Government employees) to handle work within Agencies through InterAgency agreements and loans of employees. This would reduce the need for contractors, and would allow employees the opportunity to gain connections within other Agencies than their own.

All contractors, whether production, services, R&D or otherwise, that charge to a federal contract should be earning no more than an equivalent GS employee. I recently tried to order some file folders. On Amazon.com, these folders were $50.00. When I went to our supply person to order the folders, I was told that due to an outside contract, the same folders would cost $600.00!!!!! Unbelievable rip-off - I bought the folders myself. End these ridculous contracts - nobody but the contractors benefit

Contractors provide flu shots to feds at a cost to the government and at a cost to the employee. Instead, provide feds with a coupon or other discount to get the shots at the nearby CVS/Walgreens. This would save money to the government by not having to pay the contracting company and would save money to the employee since often the shots at CVS/Walgreens are cheaper than offered through the contractor.
