As a government agency, we should encourage all of our employees and patients to help conserve the resources of the world by truly promoting recyling (having a thorough recyling program) as well as composting (for agencies with cafeterias i.e. Veterans Canteen Services). How can we expect for our fellow citizens to be environmentally friendly if we are not following our own advice.
Most employees at Hanscom AFB don't recycle cardboard, alumninum, glass, or plastic because either they don;t know there are dumpsters outside the building that can do this (they aren't blue, they are brown like trash dumpsters) and because it is a long walk to depose of your daily recyclables even in nice weather...only white paper can be recycled within the office if you put it in the fouo blue office bin.
