Land Management Agencies - Recreation

Close half of the federal recreation sites - use funds to improve the remaining sites to provide substantial ammenities to the public, use more funds to provide better publications and web services.

Make all federal passes available on-line at USGS Store (not just mail in for the Senior and Access passes). Mandate that all passes and permits be available from USGS Store (forest/park specific passes)- and only USGS... more »

On-line Services

Move all services provided by federal agencies on-line, with electronic submission. Have one (1) website that is a government service site for public services and then have a feature similar to sites such as OhRanger, where the person requesting a service can select what they are looking for - the agency, form, task, etc. and the site provides services as determined by the search.

Publications and Printing

For the FS - there should be a nationwide change to publications that look the same - one template for recreation newspapers, one template for 11x17 tri-fold brochures, 1 template for 8x11 tri-fold brochures, 1 template for interprative signs, etc. Hours of time is spent updating publications, devising layouts, etc. And no one forest has a brochure that looks like another forests/grasslands. Sometimes pubs don't even... more »

Best Mistake! Have fun and make money with WPB 123s!

If the Coast Guard 123-foot patrol boats cannot continue to be used for service at sea, let's make use of them on land. They should be gutted and the exterior/hull used as a housing for CG-themed restaurant/bars or other recreational facilities. Whether government-ran or sold for private commercial management, we can make money instead of losing it. They should be established outside of current bases/facilities where... more »
