SSA offers its customers the option of receiving their notices in Engish or Spanish. When someone requests Spanish notices, we mail them two copies of the same notice - one in English and one in Spanish. We also mail them both an English and Spanish copy of any enclosures, including such enclosures as 25-page pamphlets. Our small office received 2 catalogs. This seems to be a major waste of money producing the catalog and mailing. This catalog should be posted on the internet for easy access.

Federal agencies send out large quantities of large envelopes, which are referred to by the Postal Service as “flats”. Flats are more costly to mail than ordinary letters because they are sorted and processed on different Postal Service machines and cannot pass through the high speed letter sorting equipment.
