Stop Mailing Two Copies of SSA Notices

SSA offers its customers the option of receiving their notices in Engish or Spanish. When someone requests Spanish notices, we mail them two copies of the same notice - one in English and one in Spanish. We also mail them both an English and Spanish copy of any enclosures, including such enclosures as 25-page pamphlets. Federal agencies send out large quantities of large envelopes, which are referred to by the Postal Service as “flats”.
