DOJ's Office of Legal Education produces very authoritative and helpful manuals in a variety of subject matter areas for prosecutors/trial attorneys. They then update, produce and mail thousands of these books every year to prosecutors across the country who don't even read them because a lot of material is online in USABOOK and other online DOJ resources. EPA has an online business card ordering system that is great- you type in your info, you see what the cards will look like when they are printed, and then you can route it to your boss for approval.

Start an online voting procedure for federal elections with sufficient safeguards to prevent fraud and abuse.

I don't understand why I am mailing in documents that the IRS has already received from my banks, jobs, and etc. Why not allow individuals and companies to login to their account and see what documents the IRS has already received? Then permit them to upload the documents that are needed. Why mail in a document the IRS already has?

We use over 10 separate online systems to take care of daily administrative tasks, and I believe that we should combine them all into one website, similar to how Google lets you switch between e-mail, calendar, documents, photos, etc. with a simple mouse click.

If an aux child has a number hold on their numident record as a parent, why bother with an interview? The relationship is proven.

When Someone currently fills out the Disability Application online or the Disability Report, rarely do they file and submit the same day. If the website did not give them the option to do one or the other but made it into one application this would reduce phone calls, letters, along with wasted time and resources. Submitting paper Disability applications/appeals take longer to process and are more difficult to control vs. filing those online. Authorized Reps are paid, they are not unpaid. Many authorized reps file by paper because they are operating on pure volume vs. quality. Every quarter the SSA employees publish Oasis, a magazine distributed internally for the employees of the Social Security Administration. It is packed with information on the changes within the organization; however, this magazine could be published via the intranet instead of spending the money to print, ship, and distribute the magazine amongst the employees. Every year federal government employees are taking many work related courses. These courses are normally given by contractors. For many courses employees have to go out of his/her office to a local or distant site. A significant amount of funds and time can be saved if appropriate courses/tutorials are developed for online training.
