Certain agencies/departments have telework policies that allow employees to telework four days a week, and then report to the office one day per week. Unfortunately, some of these agencies/departments also require ALL employees on this schedule to report to the office on the same day. Currently when a division or office needs to obtain office space they will submit a bid to lease that space. Often other agencies, divisions or offices will also submit bids driving up the cost. When the Federal Government is involved in a bidding war this will drive up the cost of the ultimate "winner" costing much more tax payer dollars than is necessary.

Since the work station space allowances in 41 CFR 101-17.304 have been eliminated executive agencies have doubled the size of administrative office space, thus significantly increasing the amount that the Federal government spends on Office Space. OUTDATED OFFICE SUPPLIES

Space always seems to be an issue for files & storage in every office. I know in our department, we have numerous storage closets w/file cabinets FILLED w/ outdated office supplies (3.5 x 5 floppy disks, typewriter ribbons/correction ribbons, used binders, shelf organizers, etc).
