Special interest groups
Make members of Congress where patches on their clothing like NASCAR drivers to show who is giving them special interest money. This would generate money for the government through the ad revenues and would let the public know what companies and people are financing our elected officals.

Professional Athlete Pay
If we could cut the amount of money we put into professional sports events and the amount of pay we give athletes to play. We could help the national debt and not have to worry about destroying the middle and lower class americans life.

Now Adopt These Ideas
Had the big ticket items of the 2009 SAVE and 2010 SAVE campaigns been implemented, or if the current 2011 SAVE ideas were used immediately to lower spending and inefficiencies -- today's debt ceiling debate would not be needed. It is no longer a question of 'what' or 'how', but a need to know that the 'when' is past due -- act now and don't stop selecting ideas... more »

Institute a Federal Sales Tax
Eliminate Income tax and institute a Federal Sales Tax. This will end all of the debate in Congress about spending and tax cuts and allow for a uniform sales tax across the nation. The debt crisis would be a thing of the past.

Adopt MANY of these suggestions
Why not adopt MANY of these suggestions? Many of these are legitimate money-saving suggestions for the Federal Government.
I suggest adopting as many of these as possible to give the American Taxpayers the Federal Government that they expect and deserve.

Eliminate Federal Debt
Generate or print sufficient funds to pay off all foreign debt, upgrade societies to an economically stable and green state, payoff debts; then shut down the Federal Reserve or eliminate all debt and switch to the gold standard.

Feds SAVE, Congress Flails
After following the Congressional debates on solving our national debt crisis and reading over the ideas posted on SAVE, I have concluded I would rather have multiple SAVE ideas implemented than any proposed by Congress. Seems that Federal employees are better at tackling our national debt than elected officials.

Parsimony: Use X Agents to Achieve Debt Retirement
Let’s say that out of the more than 170 departments and agencies listed on this site, it was determined that one was not necessary, not constitutional, or suchlike.
Let’s say that agency/department was eliminated and the employees of that agency/department were offered a position (let’s call them “X Agents”) to seek out wasteful spending throughout government... more »
