Enact Confict of Interest Laws for Medical Practioners

Federal employees are barred from investing in stocks, etc. where they have even the appearance of a conflict. Congress should enact similar laws for medical practitioners. They should be barred (legally) from accepting benefits from Pharmaceutical companies that may influence their prescribing practices. There has been so much debate about "health care reform", by which is meant requiring everyone to buy health insurance, but no one appears to be looking deeper to find out WHY health care costs so much in the first place.
