LABOR-Develop a reasonable labor requirement to cut cost the Govt, would otherwise spend on Fed employees, contractors, or private sector. Since they are receiving better healthcare than most, cable which some still can't afford, and exercise equipment which some can't afford or are to busy working to use, we might as well educate them and give them a skill so they may positively contribute to society. Closing of minimum secuirty Satellite Prison Camp

Close half of the Federal prison camps. Most inmates at the camps are non-violent offenders. Most of them are in on drug or finance crimes. Place them on house arrest with them paying the supervision fees. Also give them manual labor community service. Having people like Bernie madoff in prison is pointless. He isn’t a threat to the community. By closing half the camps the government would save billions of dollars yearly.... more »

Electric Prison Fences

Can anyone please explain how spending millions of dollars per federal prison to construct an electric fence, then spending money on electricity to operate it, when people at other facilities throughout the country have successfully escaped from electric fences, can anyone explain how this is a cost savings? Reusable bags for inmates with diabetic snacks

We have diabetic inmates at my prison, each day the inmates with diabetes get a snack. The snack is for when their blood sugar drops. We handout the snacks in brown paper bags. Why don’t we give the inmates reusable bags to use for their snacks? I know it doesn’t seem like much but the bag are thrown away or use for contraband every day. We could save millions ever year. The inmates would bring the bag back every day... more »
