Currently, the Forest Service uses two main methods of hiring employees: USAJOBS and AVUE Services. USAJOBS is the more comprehensive website. AVUE has less flexibility, does not allow searches for "virtual" jobs, and frequently does not even allow listing where a particular job is located, making job searches and the application process unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Make it easier to hire "qualified applicants" in lieu of government employees who have status.

 

I have no problem with additional points that are given to past/present military personnel... but status points given to government employees needs to stop! Too many government employees are complacent and lazy.

Spending throughout Government organizations can easily be cut if the hiring process would support ACTUAL qualified applicants for the job.
