Limit prodcution of One dollar bills.

The Presidential Dollar Coin act had the hopes of saving money by a swtich to coins instead of paper. Minting a Coin is cost offection over printing dollar bills. But "bad money drives out good", and so the dollar coins are little used. so here's the suggestion.

Each of the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks is permitted to issue up to 300,000,000 one dollar Federal Reserve Notes each calendar year.

Stop printing $1 bills until stock pile of $1 coins goes down

Stop printing the ones until the stock plie of coins goes down, to the point the stockpile is "normal" inventory. Then restart printing of the dollar bill if you must. Just stopping the presidential coin program is not going to do anything for the coins in storage right now.

And I have often asked for dollar coins or half dollars a the bank and they say they dont have any. They can't circualte if you can;t get them.... more »

change payment clauses in contracts 4 partial payment in coins.

The US has a lot of dollar coins in storage. Moslty at Federal Reserve Banks and Leased Space. Change the payment section of the contracts to allow payment in Coins. This would require either an address where the coins will be delivered or and andress where the coins can be picked up by the contrator.

By using these coins, which have been minted allready, the government would not have to borrow that money,

Stop minting Quarter Dollars, Mint Half Dollars instead.

Some of the benefits of doing this are:

No more confusion between a quarter and a golden dollar. This means that one area of resistance to use the dollar coin is eliminated. Dollar coins have lower life cycle costs than paper one dollar bills.

It takes care of a major issue in trying to eliminate the 5 cent coin. (You could make the 5 cent coin form something other than nickel but it would have to get a new nick... more »

Billion dollar coin stockpile solution

I've read many news stories recently complaining about how much it costs the government to stockpile dollar coins that aren't being used. If you want to get the coins into circulation and out of the warehouses, get the money out to military commisaries. Substituting paper money with dollar coins will be easier on military bases, as the Forces are used to taking orders, and trying out new things with no questions asked.... more »

Promote dollar coin use at AAFES, Commisary, NX, Clubs, etc.

US dollar coins are being stored. They are not circulating. Dollar coins are cheaper in the long run than paper one dollar bills.

Have the PX, BX, comissary, Marine exchange, clubs in the Morale and Welfare system, etc. Start each day with a specifiec minimum of dollar coins in their "bank", "drawer", "tray" or what ever the enterprise calls the money availalbe... more »
