As we've heard recently on NPR, and seen recently of ABC News, we have literally billions of $1 coins in storage which is costing us almost $500 million a year. At the same time, we have to keep printing billions of $1 paper bills which have a very short useful life and cost of hundreds of millions a year to dispose of. The Congress gave away the Constitutional power to “To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof” to a banking cartel. The Federal Reserve has devalued the US dollar in excess of 95%. The Federal Reserve is an enabler in the Congressional spending spree. Congress should take their Constitutional power back from the Federal Reserve. End the Fed

Stop printing the ones until the stock plie of coins goes down, to the point the stockpile is "normal" inventory. Then restart printing of the dollar bill if you must. Just stopping the presidential coin program is not going to do anything for the coins in storage right now.

And I have often asked for dollar coins or half dollars a the bank and they say they dont have any. They can't circualte if you can;t get them.... more »

This probably needs legislation to make work.

US dollar coins are being stored. They are not circulating. Dollar coins are cheaper in the long run than paper one dollar bills.

Have the PX, BX, comissary, Marine exchange, clubs in the Morale and Welfare system, etc. Start each day with a specifiec minimum of dollar coins in their "bank", "drawer", "tray" or what ever the enterprise calls the money availalbe... more »
