A huge portion of our budget is spent on purchasing computers. These costs can be reduced significantly.

Everyone in my office is issued a laptop that includes a DVD/CD-ROM and an 80 GB hard drive. DVD/CD-ROMs are rarely used, and the 80 GB capacity is much more than is necessary, especially since most of our files are available through shared drives.

President Obama,

Hello Sir. I read that the government is going to begin asking its employees to shut down their computers whenever they will be out of use after their work day is over. This is a great idea, except in the Air Force there are weekly security updates that shoot through their networks. Computers (laptop & desktops) are often replaced because of technology change (update) and/or minimum requirements for new software. Nevertheless many people still happy with their home PC using Windows XP even on some new computers.
