Reduce travel costs by employing WebEx

Web meetings are an effective way to reduce travel. Staff will save travel time at airports, GovTrip scheduling, overtime, and compenstory time, not to mention per diem, parking, lodging, etc., for some trips. Reduce/Eliminate Real Estate Rental Fees

Hundreds of millions of dollars can be saved annually by doing 3 things:

1. Allow more federal workers to work from home saving millions in rental costs.

2. Use virtual meetings as often as possible to negate travel costs.

3. Govt should purchase small two seater cars for traversing city/suburban environments saving on fuel costs. I'm always seeing one or two govt personnel riding in large SUV's - very wasteful!

Virtual Training for field offices

Currently IRS field offices (Taxpayer Assistance Centers) provide annual CPE training to all employees via DVD. Having virtual instructors teach classes that are broadcast live to field offices would allow real-time interaction and save on the cost of producing and shipping thousands of DVDs each year. Virtual classes could also replace travel-related instruction and meetings.
