Axe the fax! Federal agencies have the ability to send and receive scanned documents via email through secure systems. Eliminate the use of the fax machine across the Federal Government! Doing so will erase all fax machine purchases and repair costs and reduce the amount agencies spend on toner, telephone lines, and long distance calls. Imagine the savings!

Cell Phones - Just give Employees 50 for unlimited plan!

Instead of giving Gov Employees a Cell phone paying for phone and service. Everyone has a cell phone just give each employee a 50 check per month to use there cell phone for work the 50 dollars is so they can upgrade to unlimited plan if they need to. Now if a employee doesn't want to participate that is fine. But I know most would and this would save a lot of money. Also, an incentive for employees. Everyone WINS!... more »

Reusable bags for inmates with diabetic snacks

We have diabetic inmates at my prison, each day the inmates with diabetes get a snack. The snack is for when their blood sugar drops. We handout the snacks in brown paper bags. Why don’t we give the inmates reusable bags to use for their snacks? I know it doesn’t seem like much but the bag are thrown away or use for contraband every day. We could save millions ever year. Eliminate (perceived) penalty to return unused budget dollars

Fear that not using our full allocated budget dollars will mean a decrease in funds the next fiscal year; there is a push for unnecessary or non critical spending days before deadline. On the contrary, there should be incentives to return unused portions.

LET THE ARMY INSTALLATION COMMANDER COMMAND THE INSTALLATION

Army bases are broken into dozens of different commands. To coordinate with people across the hall have to go up the chain, to another command and then down. Crazy foolish waste of money. Let the Installation Commander COMMAND THE INSTALLATION. ARMY IMCOM is a WASTE of TAXPAYER MONEY.

Federal employees making money off government travel

Many federal employees make money off of government travel. Employees should be held more accountable when reporting Meals and Incidental expenses (M&IE). Many hotels offer free breakfast/lunch/dinner but employees do not report this on the travel reimbursement forms.
