Stop the Waste and Abuse!!!

I am suggesting to install Official Time Clocks in every Department and Service Line for all staff at every VA Facility to punch a time clock when they arrive in the morning and when they leave for lunch and again upon exiting the property at the end of the tour of duty. This will save each facility a massive amount of money. There are staff that habitually come in late every day and take a 1-2 hour lunch break. Just... more »

Congressional & Senate Bill Riders

Make Congress and the Senate stick to the issue when passing bills into law. This would save alot of money by cutting out the riders they tack on that have nothing to do with the bill being passed other than to reward campaign contributions or benefit their local constituents in an election year. Eliminate Annual Clothing Allowances for Military

Each year, on the anniversary date of the enlisted military member, they recieve a clothing allowance. Based upon the branch of service and sex of the member, they recieve between 388.80 - 608.40. (www.military.com)

As of 31 May 2011, the Department of Defense had 1,182,849 enlisted members worldwide from all services. (DoD Personnle and military casualty statistics)

Excess Internet (Data) Circuit Capacity

Imagine if you lived with a roommate and he wanted Comcast Xfinity internet. So he paid for it. And you live upstairs and you want Verizon FIOS…and you pay for it. All of us would say “Wow…why do you need two internet connections?? That’s wasteful!” But when you come to the DoD, this problem of multiple internet access circuits happens every day.
