Paper Waste - VAMC records

To fulfill our duty to assist veterans with their claims we obtain their medical records. This also includes obtaining any treatment records from VA Medical Centers, which, for the most part, are available electronically through a shared network connection. Instead of just reviewing these records online, the policy is to have a hard copy of these records printed off for the file. It is a huge waste of taxpayer money... more »

VA Medical Records - Release of Information veterans records

The Release of Information method of printing out requested information on paper is time-consuming, expends high costs in paper, printer toner and printer useage costs and parts, (fusers, photoconductor kits, etc.), on leased printers.

SAVE PAPER/TIME BY ALLOWING VETERANS ACCESS TO MEDICAL RECORDS

I would like to propose that we allow the Veteran to have access to their own medical record electronically. Currently the Veterans' have to ask Release of Information to make copies for them which is very inefficient not to mention frustrating.
