Female Uniforms

In the Coast Guard, females are issued unnecessary uniforms. If they are authorized to wear the male uniform, they should have to option to purchase the male items the first time the uniform is issued. For example, at the Coast Guard Academy, all females are issued two pairs of female tropical blue long trousers upon reporting in. These cost about $40/pair. Civilian DOD Full-Time Air Reserve Technicians

I love my career in the USAF Reserves. As a full-time Air Reserve Technician the past two years we've been ordered to wear our part-time Reserve uniforms as DoD Civil Service employees daily. This is costing the USA government at 5 million dollars annually. Not to mention the yearly cash awards to other officers to maintain dress and appearance standards daily. Cash Incentive for Not Spending All Uniform Allowance

A 100% voluntary program that would give participating employees $50, $100, etc. cash incentives that could save up to $3,940,400 per year with just 25% participation. Eliminate Annual Clothing Allowances for Military

Each year, on the anniversary date of the enlisted military member, they recieve a clothing allowance. Based upon the branch of service and sex of the member, they recieve between 388.80 - 608.40. (www.military.com)

As of 31 May 2011, the Department of Defense had 1,182,849 enlisted members worldwide from all services. (DoD Personnle and military casualty statistics)
