I think that the government can save money if all government vehicles were converted to either flex fuel or hybrid vehicles. the government would save alot of money on with the use of ethanol. Also some organizations would benefit from fleet reduction some have way to many vehicles and not enough drivers so why not reduce and save the government several thousand here and there.

Capture monthly vehicle mileage without using employee resources

We are required to submit vehicle mileages for all GSA vehicles on a monthly basis. In our office of approximately 80 employees, we currently have 26 GSA vehicles. The Vehicles are usually in the field when the email request to retrieve mileages goes out.

Costly Use of GSA and Unicor

One of the largest issues is the complexity in getting to purchase materials/office equipment etc. locally. We are essentially forced to order from the corporations such as Unicor and GSA that charge ridiculous prices for their items. GSA Fleet Vehicles

We have a number of GSA fleet vehicles that are gas guzzlers. Now that hybrid and natural gas technology are available with a number of American car dealerships, I would like to recommend that all government agencies with fleet vehicles upgrade to more environmentally friendly vehicles when the contracts are up.
