Making Connections More Efficient

Have you ever needed to find someone in your agency that has the expertise or authority to help you on a project? Me too. How long did it take you to finally find the right person? How many emails did you send? Phone calls made? Hours/days wasted?

I propose the federal government invests in and/or creates an interactive web tool on the intranet that let's federal employees create a user profile... with expertise... more »

Submit Travel receipts via email

When using FedTraveler, you get to request and submit your travel voucher online but you have to fax your receipts which get scanned in by someone else. Allow employees to send scanned receipts as attachments to the submitted voucher. This would save on paper (faxes received), man hours (second person entering receipts already compiled), and other expenses (toner, repair bills, etc.).

Not only would employees be able... more »

SharePoint Saves!!!

All governmental organizations either currently have or are in the process of activating a SharePoint online Virtual Work Environment (VWE). More impetus needs to be placed on activation and utilization of these environments in an effort to truly 'do more with less' as well as creating a capability to implement their mandated telework capabilities and paper work reduction mandates. Share Medical Records Electronically

VA doesn't obtain medical records from DoD hospitals and medical facilities electronically. Additionally, VA will order tests that have already been done at a DoD medical facility. Sharing records and tests electronically saves time, money and paper. This should work both ways, i.e. VA to DoD facility and DoD facility to VA.

While those of us who are technically savvy realize that network security is an absolute necessity, we also know that NOT allowing the full gambit of options is ridiculously restrictive.

PLEASE - form a "tiger team", appoint a "CZAR", do whatever is necessary but PLEASE - come up with a set of... more »

Mandatory Electronic Travel Records for all Government Travel

Eliminate billions of paper files by making it mandatory for all government agency workers using the “GovTrip” travel program to upload all documents as PDFs onto the server, thereby creating a single source for all government travel documents.

PROBLEM: Our administrative personnel require us to hand-deliver manila files with printed out documents for ALL travel. This requires preparers to print out all electronic files,... more »

Pregnancy testing prior to procedure.

Currently we must snrd all females 60 or less to lab for blood draw prior to any consious sedation procedures. My idea includes the ability to allow the woman to sign a waiver, they allow women to do this in teh community facilities, and if they are having sexual behaviors the area could perform a dip stick test. These are very accurate these days, and very fast. this would cut down on the work in the lab, the wait time... more »

I just wasted an hour looking for the submission I put in!

I just wasted an hour looking for the submission that I input several days ago because there is no search system to recall your message. I even used the keyword search. While looking through the pages, I saw hundreds of similar ideas. Instead of having that many ideas with a few “likes” If the site had a way to catalog similar ideas by keyword, the time wasted searching would be reduced, and a better count of feedback... more »
