Any pins, cup holders or other souvenirs sold by the Federal government should be made in America. This would create jobs, help the trade deficit and support our own businesses.

There are staplers made that use no staples for up to five pages. Used for small staple jobs, both money and resources could be conserved.

 

These staplers are inexpensive and eco-friendly.

Many Coast Guard members are required to obtain a Government Purchase Card. Following the proper Source of Supply is essential to obtaining supplies and services as well as receiving the proper cost for each item or service.

Here is where we fall short. Too many purchases are being made to big and small companies resulting in waste of funds.

In theory the programs work, but in practice there are too many flaws. Contractors know these flaws and capitalize on them. Save money by paying down the debt, and don't let default happen (or else interest rates rise, and the US debt will crush us!). The equation is taxes on income are source of funding for Govt. Provide separation bonuses to government employees who submit an approved business plan and will start a business within 1 year of separation/early retirement from government employment.

I can only speak for myself, but I have noticed that the onsite cafeteria vendor offerings and staff has declined throughout the year. Granted in my complex, some agencies have scaled back on employees, increased mobile work and alternative work schedules causing the vendor to cutback on costs.
